BASIC REQUIREMENTS TO ADOPT A
HEART OF TEXAS GREYHOUND

In order to adopt a H.O.T. Hound, you must:
Own your home, or if renting, have your Landlord's written permission to adopt an animal over 60 lbs.
Have a fenced yard. A fence that is four feet in height is usually sufficient. If you do not have a fenced yard, you must walk your Greyhound at least four to five times daily for exercise and "potty" breaks.
Agree to keep a collar with identification on your Greyhound at all times.
Agree to keep your Greyhound on a leash when not within a secured, fenced area.
Agree to keep your Greyhound on monthly heartworm preventative and keep your Greyhound's annual vaccinations up-to-date.
Agree to allow your Greyhound to live inside your home. Greyhounds are NOT "yard" dogs!
And most importantly, agree to provide food, water, care and unconditional love for your Greyhound for the remainder of its life!
