BLISS
Black Female
Birthdate: August 2007
Weight: 60#
CAT TOLERANT (TBC)
TINY GAL!
Bliss is being fostered in New Braunfels.
Bliss arrived at H.O.T. from Gulf Greyhound Park after suffering a career-ending injury in her last race. She did break her right
rear hock, but it was tended to immediately by the track vet, reassessed by one of H.O.T.'s vets, and she is doing fine.
Her foster mom describes Bliss as a greyt dog who is a go-along, get-along type, and has not had any problems chewing or messing
on the floor. She adds that Bliss is very retiring, not overly demonstrative, a typical female.
In her first foster home, Bliss crated well and ate "like a horse",

BOPEEP
Red Fawn Female
Birthdate: May 2007
Weight: 63#
CAT TOLERANT
SHE FOUND HER WAY HOME!
Bopeep arrived at H.O.T. from a farm in North Texas. During her race training, Bopeep suffered a cracked hock. So, as far as we are
aware, she never raced. At this point, her hock is fully healed and doesn't cause her any problems.
Bopeep is a beautiful gal who looks very much like her famous daddy, Gable Dodge. She has an outstanding personality and is a real
easy gal to have around. Like many of the Gable females, Bopeep is very muscular and has a good physique. As you can tell
from her picture, Bopeep has a darker muzzle and a dark "widow's peak" which gives her a really cute look.
Bopeep is a real sweetheart and we feel she would be a greyt companion in most any home situation.

NOT CAT SAFE
CUDDLY BUG!
Cardinal has arrived at H.O.T. from the Gable Greyhound Farm.
Cardinal is a gorgeous, big gal who has the softest coat and most beautiful brown eyes. The white accents on her toes, chest and
rather large tip of her tail just add to the total picture.
Cardinal never raced but she has a very keen eye towards smaller critters. Cardinal loves playing with stuffies, but she can
destroy them as quickly as you can get them out for her. We say that Cardinal is the "stuffie terminator"! But with all
the attention she pays to smaller critters, she is gentle and loving to her humans.
We feel Cardinal is sure to fly into some lucky family's hearts.

SENIOR GREYHOUND
See Greyhound-Data.com for Daisy's lineage.
|
DAISY
Blue Brindle Female
Birthdate: October 1998
Weight: 60#
SMALL CRITTER SAFE
JUST A SWEETHEART!
Daisy is one of five Greyhounds who came to H.O.T. from John Bassett's Greyhound Farm. Mr. Bassett had 50 Greyhounds ranging in age
from six through 14 years of age who needed placement. H.O.T. was one of the groups who stepped up to help out and took six to allow
them to find forever homes or to live out their lives in comfort and loved in a foster home.
Described as friendly, curious, interactive and affection, we have to totally agree. Daisy is just a real doll baby who just loves
life. Daisy came to H.O.T. missing lots of hair due to flea dermatitis. After the fleas were erraticated, Daisy's hair grew in
and she has soft "bunny fur".
Daisy was taken to the H.O.T. vet for evaluation. The majority of her teeth were pulled but the vet was unable to spay her due to
the time her dental took. The vet also noted that Daisy's pupils stay fully dilated which could indicate that Daisy has some
blindness. Daisy and Scarlet are best buds.
Daisy doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body. She has found contentment in her foster home giving the new Chihuahua puppy gentle
baths!

DALE
Black Male
Birthdate: October 2005
Weight: 67#
SMALL CRITTER SAFE
BLACK AND BEAUTIFUL!
Dale, who is littermate to Gage, has arrived at H.O.T. from the Gulf Greyhound Park. His trainer
told us that Dale thinks he's still a puppy and he is very outgoing and friendly.
Dale is a wonderful Greyhound whose coat is just shiny, shiny, shiny. The white markings on his coat, including blaze, chest, mits
and tail tip, just sparkles while setting off his black beautifully. But it isn't just his looks. Dale is the whole package of
greyt looks and stellar personality.
Dale would do best with children over the age of 10. We feel that Dale has the confidence to be in an only-dog household. He
crates beautifully and loves stuffies.
Dale is destined to bring much joy and love into some lucky adoptive home!

DAZZLE
White and Red Female
Birthdate: January 2006
Weight: 58#
NOT CAT SAFE
RAZZLE DAZZLE!
Dazzle has arrived at H.O.T. from a farm in Thorndale. According to records, she was race trained but never raced on a track. After
meeting her, we understand why. She is such a doll, Dazzle probably didn't want to get her feet dirty! Dazzle is a major sweetheart
who only wants to please.
Dazzle is a bit on the shy side, but she quickly warms up to those who love her. Dazzle crates beautifully, loves tossing stuffies
around, has not refused any meals, and is just an easy Grey to have around. In an adoptive home, children over the age of six would
probably be best.
We know in the right home, Dazzle will just shine and blossom into a wonderful companion!

There is no lineage info on Derek at this time.
|
DEREK
Red Male
Birthdate: July 2004
Weight: 70#
SMALL ANIMAL TOLERANT
HANDSOME YOUNG MAN!
Derek is an outstanding young man. He is absolutely gorgeous inside and out. Well-behaved in the house, Derek is one of the
most loving Greyhounds who we have had the privilege to meet!
Derek was found as a stray in Corpus Christi. Although H/W positive and in overall poor shape, Derek has blossomed into the most
handsome of Greyhounds.
While in Corpus, Derek was fostered in a home with other Greyhounds and a pug and he did greyt. While in a foster home in San
Antonio, Derek was exposed to cats. Although tolerant of them, Derek did show the cats some attention, but he was correctable.
Derek crates beautifully and loves those squeeky stuffies. It doesn't take him long to "kill" the squeekers in those
stuffies.
Derek is a wonderful young man who has come a long way to health and happiness. We feel that Derek will bring much love and
laughter to the family lucky enough to adopt him!

DOUBLE
Red Male
Birthdate: October 2007
Weight: 69#
CAT TOLERANT
SEEING DOUBLE?
Double is being fostered in Helotes.
Double and his six friends have arrived at H.O.T. from the Gulf Greyhound Park. Double was retired to due breaking his right hock
in his last race on July 4th. Double was taken immediately to the H.O.T. vet upon arriving. Double's cast was removed and he is
using his leg only favoring it once in a while. H.O.T.'s vet said Double was well cared for by the track vet and kennel personal at
the Gulf!
Double is a gorgeous boy with the dark markings around his eyes and on his muzzle and ears. He is gentle when dealing with his
foster family and loves to stand for pets and scritches. Double crates beautifully and has a good appetite.
Due to his previous broken hock, it might be better for Double to adopted into a family with children who are steady on their feet
so as to not trip and fall on Double. But we do feel that Double would greyt with children of any age.
Some family will be so lucky to give Double the home that he so richly deserves.

ELISA
Brindle Female
Birthdate: September 2005
Weight: 62#
SMALL CRITTER SAFE
JUST A SWEETHEART!
Elisa has arrived at H.O.T. from the Gulf Greyhound Park. Her trainer has told us that Elisa was a little shy but overall a
wonderful young gal.
Well, H.O.T. concurs with Elisa's trainer's opinion. Although a little shy when first arriving at H.O.T., Elisa soon proved herself
to be a playhound who loves tossing the stuffies and chasing after the other Greys in her foster home.
Elisa is a beautiful young gal who crates beautifully and gets along with the little kitten in her foster home. Once settled in
her home, Elisa doesn't need to be around her humans all the time. She finds ways to keep herself entertained.
We feel that Elisa would do best in a home with other dog companions.
Elisa will bring lots of love and laughter to the lucky family who falls in love with her.

ELVIS
Red Brindle Male
Birthdate: May 2006
Weight: 69#
NOT SMALL CRITTER SAFE
WHERE'S ELVIS!
Elvis, retired due to a broken hock, has arrived at H.O.T. from Gulf Greyhound Park!
Elvis' foster mom sent this picture of Elvis in his crate surrounded by many toys and making himself right at home! She notes
that he is quite the "hunter/gatherer".
In this picture, Elvis had surrounded himself with seven toys - so far. She adds, Elvis did try to take the throw pillows off the
sofa and I put my foot down and firmly told him NO!
Elvis is an awesome Grey and a funny young man. If anything is within his reach, it is his, and he promptly will take it back to
his kennel.
Foster mom says there is only have one problem. It is quite embarrassing to be in your back yard calling for "Elvis" to
come inside the house. She's already gotten lots of comments about the "return of the King".

EMMA
White and Red Brindle Female
Birthdate: September 2004
Weight: 59#
CAT TOLERANT/SMALL DOG SAFE
JUST A LITTLE CHARMER!
Emma initially came to H.O.T. from the Peck's Greyhound Farm. She was adopted by a wonderful family in early 2008, but returned
to H.O.T. due to a radial change in family dynamics which would necessitate Emma being home, crated for 12 hours daily. So, rather
than feel like they would be ignoring Emma, they felt it best that she find a new home where her people could give her a more normal
life.
Emma is small and petite with a zest for life. When she is excited, her lips curl up in a tiny grin. This reminds us of the
Grinch's untoothy smile!
Emma crates beautifully. Dinnertime is a favorite of hers. Emma also LOVES stuffies.
In her adoptive home, she had a min-pin and another smallest dog as companions as well as two young girls to play with. So, a family
with children would probably be a plus for her.
Emma is a little darling who is just waiting for the right family to call her own!

EMMA
Brindle Female
Birthdate: June 2001
Weight: 57#
SMALL CRITTER SAFE
CAN YOU SAY, PERFECT?!
Emma comes to H.O.T. as an owner surrender who adopted her from an out-of-state group. No paperwork was provided and her tattoos are
unreadable. So, positive identification is not possible at this time. Her birthdate tattoos are an educated guess.
Emma is in beautiful shape and is a perfect Greyhound in her foster home. She has a beautiful brindle coat and as you can tell
from the pictures, she loves to be close to her human.
In her previous home, she lived with a chihuahua and small children. In her foster home, she is exposed to cats on a daily basis.
Emma is perfect in any situation.
Emma does crates beautifully but doesn't need to be. When she first arrived at H.O.T., Emma was a little overweight. She also was
a little picky with her eating. So, Emma was able to take off a few pounds and is now eating well and looks perfect.
We feel that Emma is destined to give her special brand of love to the family lucky enough to adopt her!

ESTHER
Red Female
Birthdate: May 2005
Weight: 61#
NOT CAT SAFE
FLAMING REDHEAD!
Eather, along with five others, has arrived at H.O.T. from a Greyhound farm going out of business in Galveston.
Eather washed out after running six races, much preferring a life of leisure to being a racer! At this point, we feel that Eather
would do well as an only Greyhound, but we are still evaluating her.
Eather is a bright red and she has dark accents on her face which gives her a very expression-filled expression. In her foster
home, Esther does get along with all the other Greyhounds.
Esther really isn't a big play hound. Much preferring to just lay down and watch life go by around her. She does crate well and
eats well at dinnertime.
Esther is just a little darling who is looking for a special family to call her own.

SENIOR GREYHOUND
See Greyhound-Data.com for Fancy's lineage.
|
FANCY
Red Brindle Female
Birthdate: November 2000
Weight: 68#
SMALL CRITTER SAFE
A GRAND DAME!
Fancy is a retired brood matron who came to H.O.T. from the Peck's Greyhound Farm. Fancy is littermate to
Fandango, who was adopted through H.O.T. in 2005.
As you can tell from Fancy's pictures, she thinks she is above all the nonsense of getting adopted. She enters a home and just
adapts like she's lived there all her life. Fancy is just a jewel!
Fancy just lays around most of day watching the goings-on about her. Very gentle and quiet, we feel that Fancy deserves a special
home who will love and cherish her.
Since Fancy was a broodie, she does tend to be a little longer in length than other female Greyhounds. Her coat does seem to be a
bit longer than some. But we feel this is farm-coat and will shed off eventually.
We feel that Fancy would do well in most any home situation. But we do think that Fancy might enjoy being the companion of a older
person who just wants a companion to love on and talk too.

SWEET YOUNG THING!
Fissby is being fostered in Helotes.
Fissby, along with five others, has arrived at H.O.T. from a Greyhound farm going out of business in Galveston.
Fissby was a racer, then a brood matron, and is looking to start her third career as a "couch potatoe"!
In her first home, Fissby was a good gal but it was obvious that she wanted a home where she would be more on one-on-one with
the humans. Fissby crated beautifully and got along with everyone, but it was the space issues she was having which led us to
that conclusion.
In her current foster home, upon entering, Fissby immediately bonded herself to the 10-year old son. They are working with Fissby
on getting her used to steps and other aspects of their home environment.
Fissby is the whole package of looks and personality and is looking for a very special home to call her own!

Flirt is being fostered in Corpus Christi.
Flirt came to H.O.T from Brownsville Animal Control in 11/07/09. We thank everyone who was involved in taking care of Flirt and
helping get her to H.O.T. so that she can have a chance to find a wonderful forever home!
From her tattoos, we see that Flirt last raced at the Valley Greyhound Track in 2003. We don't know what happened between then and
now, but we know that Flirt will be loved for the sweet Greyhound she is now that she is with H.O.T.
As you can see from the pictures, Flirt has quite a bit of ticking on her. We're sure that most children will call her a dalmation

FLIRTY FLIRT!
Flirty comes to H.O.T. from the Gable Greyhound Farm. Her racing history consists of one race at the Gulf Greyhound
Park where she was bumped while running. This seemed to "spook" her and now she doesn't have the heart to
run. So, now, Flirty is looking to race into your heart!
Flirty is a quiet gal who just draws you in with her beautiful brown eyes. Her coloration is striking with her
sparkling white, bright red with dark make-up on her face.
Flirty crates beautifully. In her foster home, which has laminate floors, Flirty is having a bit of difficulty getting
used to the floor. But we know given time, Flirty will soon adapt and be able to navigate them with no problem.
Flirty is looking for a special family where she can use her flirty ways to charm everyone! We feel that Flirty would do

FLO
Red Brindle Female
Birthdate: March 2003
Weight: 71#
SMALL CRITTER SAFE
VERY SWEET YOUNG GAL!
Flo has been returned to H.O.T. once again because of the economy. The first time, Flo's adoptive dad lost his job which
necessitated a move out-of-state to live with family while searching for another job opportunity. This time, Flo's adoptive mom and
dad both became unemployed due to the sale and closing of the company they worked for.
Flo is a very lovely young gal with an outstanding personality. She loves everyone and everyone loves her when they get to know
her! Although coming back a bit overweight, we are working towards getting Flo back into optimal weight.
Flo is used to be crated. She lived with cats and a miniature Schnauzer and a small child in her former home.
This gal is just perfect and very easy to have around. If you are looking for a Greyhound who is already preconditioned to home
life, Flo may be the gal for you!

FRANCESCA
Black Brindle Female
Birthdate: April 2000
Weight: 64#
SMALL CRITTER SAFE
JUST A BEAUTY!
Francesca is a retired brood matron who arrived at H.O.T. from the Peck's Greyhound Farm. Francesca has the same breeding as
Bilbo, who was adopted through H.O.T. in 2003. A little reserved,
but wonderful in every way! One of our newest H.O.T. Hounds, Tommy, is one of Francesca's
babies!
Francesca is one of the prettiest Greyhounds we have ever seen. Her coloring is very unique. Although technically a black brindle,
her coat looks more like dark chocolate ice cream with caramel sauce drizzled over it. There are also touches of "whipped
creme" on her face and toes. Just beautiful.
But as beautiful as she is on the outside, Francesca's personality is every more beautiful. Loving, gentle and easy-going,
Francesca is just a joy to have around.
Francesca crates beautifully, but we feel she would do equally well uncrated after the initial adjustment in a new environment.
Francesca seems to enjoy having the kitties laying close to her. She kind of nuzzles them in around her.
This gal is pretty special and needs a very special home where she will be loved and cherished by her family.
