HANDSOME YOUNG MAN!
Gage, who is littermate to Dale arrived at H.O.T. from Gulf Greyhound Park. His trainer described Gage as a greyt dog who is easy to have around.
As you can see from his pictures, Gage really doesn't like to have his picture taken. These were the best we could get! But don't let the pictures fool you. Gage is a gorgeous young man with a dark red coat, black mask, and white mits, chest and tail tip! But his laid-back demeanor and loving personality will sure to win over the right adoptive family!
Gage crates perfectly, hasn't met a bowl of food he hasn't liked, and play with stuffies with happy abandon. We feel that Gage would do well in most any adoptive home!

HANDSOME HUNK!
Happy Boy, along with five others, has arrived at H.O.T. from a Greyhound farm going out of business in Galveston.
Happy Boy is a handsome young guy who graded off the track in 2008 and has just been taking it easy down on the farm. In his foster home, Happy Boy is just an easy guy to have around.
What a joy it is to have Happy Boy around! Not only is he a good looking young man, but he's got an outstanding personality. Happy Boy crates beautifully. At dinnertime, he is patient while everyone gets fed and he's a good eater when it's his turn. Happy Boy also is a big toy hound and particularly likes those toys which squeek!
We feel Happy Boy is going to make some lucky family very heppy that they chose this happy boy!

LOVELY LITTLE LADY!
Happy Girl, along with five others, has arrived at H.O.T. from a Greyhound farm going out of business in Galveston. Happy Girl is littermate to Smoke who has also arrived at H.O.T.
Happy Girl, who had quite a long racing career, is a cute gal who was graded off the track. She has a very confident personality and would do well (best) in a one-dog home.
Happy Girl crates beautifully and is a real lovebug. All she wants is someone to love her. She is very eager to please.
Children over the age of ten would probably be best with Happy Girl.

CURIOUS GUY!
Jakpot is being fostered in Corpus Christi.
Jakpot and six of his friends have arrived at H.O.T. from the Gulf Greyhound Park.
Jakpot is a really pretty Grey with just a touch of brindling. Although his muzzle and face are grizzled with white, he is only four years of age. This grizzling gives him a distinquished look.
Jakpot is a smaller guy. He crates beautifully and hasn't met a bowl of food he didn't like. He does go around after he eats searching for more!
Jakpot gets along with the other Greyhounds in his foster home. He is a really easy boy to have around.
We feel that Jakpot would do beautifully in most any adoptive home.

LOVING YOUNG MAN!
Jasper has been adopted and is living with his new family, including Greyhound "sister", Glisten!

JUST A SWEETIE!
Kasper came to H.O.T. from the Brownsville Animal Shelter on July 3rd. He was taken in as a stray and through the "Greyhound Network" in the Valley, H.O.T. was contacted to take him in. Although in terrible shape when he arrived, Kasper has been transformed into a handsome butterfly! Kasper is just the cutest. His tail is in constant motion even when laying down. He likes it when we sing "Kasper, the friendly Greyhound" to him!
At dinnertime, Kasper gets so excited and finds it hard to sit while waiting to be served! He is just so cute.
Kasper has a vigor and love of life which we don't see very often. The world is his oyster and he can't wait to open it! He just finds joy in everything around him!
We have discovered that Kasper likes being the "boss dog" in whatever home he's in. So, he would probably do best as the only canine member of a household. Children over the age of ten would probably be best. Kasper is used to long walks and can do five miles with no trouble.

BEAUTIFUL BOY!
Kenny is being fostered in Corpus Christi.
Kenny and his littermate, Kyle, and arrived at H.O.T. from Peck's Greyhound Farm.
The brothers are very dependent on each other. They are like "Mutt and Jeff", call one and they both show up!
Kenny is a really sweet boy. Usually when his foster mom is walking through the house, Kenny takes every opportunity to worm his punkin head under her hand for a quick scritch. Close To You should be Kenny's theme song.
Kenny crates beautiful and hasn't met a bowl of food he didn't like. Kenny does tend to counter-surf if he thinks there is something there he needs to investigate, but a quick "NO" is the only correction needed.
We feel that Kenny will be a wonderful companion to some lucky family!

SHE'S COME HOME!
Lassie has arrived at H.O.T. from the Gable Greyhound Farm.
Lassie is a typical Gable gal. Greyt personality and greyt looks. Lassie is a gorgeous young gal who just wants to please. She just goes with the flow and is really easy to have around.
Lassie crates beautifully. She loves dinner time and treat time. She loves tossing the stuffies with abandon and then pouncing on them when they finally hit the floor. She is greyt fun and very entertaining to watch!
We know that Lassie will bring some lucky adoptive family much love and joy for many years!

JUST A LOVE!
Levi has arrived at H.O.T. from John Bassett's Greyhound Farm. Called Evil at the farm, we just couldn't call a beautiful Greyhound "Evil". So, we played a little game with the letters and came up with Levi. Much better, we think!
Levi takes a little time to get used to a new environment. Not that he causes any trouble, but he just goes into a little funk and takes a while to get his full appetite back.
Levi is a real love bug and just a wonderful young guy to have around. We feel that he would do beautifully in any home situation given the time to acclimate.

TOO CUTE FOR WORDS!
Libby Lou cam to H.O.T. in 2006 from a Greyhound farm in Dilley, Texas, when her facing owner passed away/ The Texas Greyhound Association took possession of her and asked H.O.T. to assist in Libby Lou's placement.
When Libby Lou arrived at H.O.T., she was a shy albeit playful pup. She had never received any race training and had not been socialized around people.
Libby Lou was adopted into a loving home where she matured and became a loving, confident Greyhound.
Fast-forward four years, Libby Lou has been returned to H.O.T. for rehoming due to a situation with a small child in the home.
In her adoptive home, Libby Lou was not crated, but kept in a room with two other smaller dogs and she did fine. She is wonderful in a home, does crate if needed, and has a very healthy appetite.
Libby Lou doesn't have the usual "rose ears" of a typical Greyhound her are cute and floppy and just shows her fun, playful outlook on life.
We feel that Libby Lou is a lovely young gal who will bring much love and joy into the right adoptive home!

GENTLE GAL!
Lilly came to H.O.T. in 2004 from the Corpus Christi Greyhound Racetrack. She was adopted into a home with a wonderful woman. Unfortunately, Lilly's adoptive mom has had to return her due to health issues of a family and not being able to give Lilly the time she felt she needed.
Lilly is a lovely, gentle gal who is perfect with children of any age and pets of any kind. Lilly does equally well in a crate or out of one when her foster parents are not home. Lilly just wants to please her owner and be loved for the darling she is.
Lilly is not eating quite as much as we'd like at this point, but she isn't loosing weight. So, we guess that Lilly just turns away when her hunger has been satisfied. She does take a little enticement to eat and eats better when some canned food is put in with her kibble.
We feel that Lilly has lots of love to give. Will your family be the lucky one to receive it?

NO VIOLET EYES,
BUT A LOOKER ALL THE SAME!
Liz Taylor has arriving at H.O.T. from a farm in North Texas. Although her racing owner told us that Liz is a bit shy, it is apparent that Liz just wants to be the favorite of some lucky family.
Our Liz Taylor has a beautiful, full head of black luxurious hair - just like Liz Taylor, the actress had. Our Liz Taylor has a quiet, sedate, lady-like demeanor - again, just like the other Liz!
Our Liz feels secure and comfortable in a crate with soft cushy blankets. Although Liz was a bit shy about eating when first arriving at H.O.T., she soon learned that it was a greyt place to be with lots of loving humans giving her scritches! Lis really love dinnertime and it is probably her favorite time of the day. Liz has also picked out the most stuffy of the stuffies to play with and then collapse on when she tires out.
Our Liz is looking for a family who will continue the pampering that she has received at H.O.T. Will that family be yours?
