WHAT A LAID BACK GUY!
Gunsmoke arrived at H.O.T. in our seventh and last group of Greyhounds from the Corpus Christi Greyhound Racetrack.
Gunsmoke is a very handsome young guy who is as shiny as a new penny. His black is like charcoal and his white is sparkling; he is one gorgeous boy! But not only is is very striking in his looks, his personality is outstanding too!
Gunsmoke crates like a dream. He loves playing with stuffies and the squeeky ones are particular favorites. Gunsmoke is a wonderful all-round Greyhound who we feel would do well in most any home situation.

HANDSOME HAL!
Hal, who is the littermate to Al, whom H.O.T. adopted out earlier this year, has arrived in our third group of Greyhounds from the Lone Star Kennel at the Corpus Christi Greyhound Racetrack.
What a handsome boy this is! A beautiful red with black tips and accents, Hal is just the epitome of gorgeous. But along with his handsome features comes a personality and demeanor which has no end. Happy all the time, Hal just wants to be everyone's best friend!
Hal crates beautifully. Rawhide retrieve rolls are a special favorite of his. We can only imagine the joy and love he will bring into some lucky adopter's home.

JUST TOO MUCH FUN!
Herman was adopted into a home for about a month. He returns to H.O.T. because of a breakup of the couple. Herman lived in a third-story apartment and did greyt while at that home.
Herman is a really fun guy. He's young and doesn't realize how big he actually is! If Herman had his way, he would spend his days climbing into laps and jumping into arms!
Herman looks at life as his own personal oyster; he just wants to eat it all up. And after he's done "eating", he will come and burp in your face with a smile on his face so you can share the experience and just remember how fun life really is.
Crating is no problem with this big boy.
Herman is one fun, playful hound who would love to have children to run and play with!

WILL CAST A SPELL ON YOU!
Hermione and her littermate, Ravenclaw a/k/a Raven, arrived at H.O.T. in our sixth group of Corpus Greyhounds.
Look into her eyes, she's telling you that she's a wonderful young gal who needs you are her family! What a darling Hermione is.
Although she crates easily, Hermione does tend to sing a little when in her crate. Maybe she's just working on a new spell while in there! At dinner time, it just takes a wave of her mouth and it's gone!
Just like the Hermione in Harry Potter, H.O.T.'s Hermione's got beautiful reddish hair. Our Hermione is special though because she's got beautiful black brindling throughout her hair. We feel that Hermione would do well in most any home situation.
With just one look at Hermione, we're sure that your family will quickly fall under her spell!

BLACK BEAUTY!
Idgie arrived at H.O.T. from John Dalton's Greyhound Farm and what a sweetheart she is! John says she was the last "for adoption" female she had at that time. We are so glad that Idgie came to H.O.T. She is just a jewel!
We though Idgie was a strange name, but say it a few times, it's a really fun name for a really fun gal!
Idgie walked into her first home like to the manor born and she's been perfect ever since. Idgie is wonderful in her crate. She gets along with the other Greyhounds in her foster home. She's got a playful personality. And Idgie's coat is shiny and sleek, really in tip-top condition.
Can't think of anything to say about this gal that isn't positive. We think that Idgie will do well in any home situation and bring a family many years of joy and laughter!

READY TO FLY INTO YOUR HEART!
Jet arrived at H.O.T. in our seventh and last group of Greyhounds from the Corpus Christi Greyhound Racetrack.
Jet is a wonderful young man who is just easy to have around. He is a gorgeous brindle with a white chest, white mits and a white tip on the end of his tail. Jet is a proud Greyhound who knows how to strut his stuff. We feel he would be a good companion for a person who does power walking or jogging.
Jet is a super stuffie guy and the squeekier the better! Jet crates beautifully. Dinnertime is one of his favorite times of the day. Jet is playful and loving and would probably do very well with children.
We feel that Jet would be a most welcomed addition to any home situation.

BIG AND BEAUTIFUL!
Joshy has arrived at H.O.T. in our second group of Greyhounds from the Lone Star Kennel at the Corpus Christi Greyhound Race Track.
Although a bit subdued at his current foster home, we feel that Joshy's true personality if just waiting to burst out! When you aren't watching him, Joshy can be a real play hound with the stuffies. He absolutely adores rawhide retriever rolls.
Joshy is a beautiful black boy with a coat so shiny that light reflects off him! You can tell he was much loved by the trainers at the track by the excellent condition he is in. Joshy has well defined muscles and is just in tip-top shape.
Joshy crates beautifully. He does like to make a pile out of his crate bedding.
Joshy would probably do best in a home where the children are quieter. He does tend to "start" at loud noises.
Joshy is just waiting to become the perfect companion in some lucky adopter's home!

SHE'LL RUN AWAY WITH YOUR HEART!
Katie has been adopted and is living with her new Greyhound "brother", Trigger, in N.W. San Antonio!

GIVE ME A LITTLE KISS!
Kissy arrived at H.O.T. in our seventh and last group of Greyhounds from the Corpus Christi Greyhound Racetrack.
Kissy is a wonderful gal with a beautiful way about her. Gentle and loving, her soft brown eyes draw you in with promises of things to come. Kissy is beautifully marked. Red with black eye make up and black going down the top of her tail. Kissy has white mits on all four feet.
Kissy crates beautifully and just gets along with everyone in her foster home.
Given her gentle demeanor, we feel Kissy would be a greyt addition in any home situation. Children who are quieter would probably be best.
Kissy would probably do better in a home where she has another dog to follow and give her confidence.

RECENT STRAY!
UPDATE 05/05/08"  Although Lucy's feet were improving, they took a turn for the worse and continue to cause Lucy problems. So, due to Lucy's foot problems, H.O.T. felt that it would be best for Lucy to be placed in a permanent foster situation and supported by H.O.T. for her life. Our thanks for Kip K. and his senior Greyhound, Gable Hershey, who have agreed to love and provide the needed care for Lucy, with H.O.T.'s assistance, for the remainder of her life!
Found running the streets of San Antonio, Lucy was turned over to H.O.T. for help in finding her a home. We are unable to read her LE tattoo. So, positive identification cannot be made. We received no response to the ad placed in the newspaper.
Lucy has gotten a clean bill of health from our vet. She is cute and vivacious and everyone is her friend! We feel she must have been someone's pet at one time due to the fact that she has taken to home life so quickly.
Although technically a senior, with her beautiful looks and puppy-like playfulness, Lucy could pass for a Greyhound half her age.
Lucy is well behaved in the house and doesn't need crated, even though, she doesn't mind being crated and loves to chew on rawhide retriever rolls when crated.
Lucy doesn't like her feet messed with. So, if her adoptive home isn't experienced with trimming dog toenails, it might be a good idea to let a professional do it.
Update 09/10/07:  Lucy's foot problems continue. Having open sores all over her feet, Lucy is currently being reevaluated by the H.O.T. for treatment.
Update 11/12/07:  Thanks to Lucy's "Fairy Godfather", Bill S., Lucy's feet have been thoroughly evaluated by a Greyhound specialist, tests run, and Lucy put on long-term medication to clean up the three different types of infection which have been present on her feet. Lucy improves daily and remains the sweet, loving, perfect gal we know and love!
