GABBY
Dark Brindle Female
Birthdate: October 2005
Weight: 62#
SMALL CRITTER TOLERANT
BEAUTIFUL GAL!
Gabby has arrived from the Gulf Greyhound Park!
At the home, Gabby is a quiet, sedate little gal. Get her out in public and she becomes a total wall-flower. Gabby
isn't shy; she is just insecure and unsure of things until she gets used to it.
Gabby has been in a foster home with several Greyhounds and she did fine. She was moved into another home with a couple
of Greyhounds and other critters. Gabby proved to be very skiddish and scared of everything. We then moved Gabby into
her current foster home. There are two other Greyhounds and a quiet human. Gabby is finally blooming into the
Greyhound we know she can be. We do think, however, that time will be needed for Gabby to adjust when she is adopted
and moved into her adoptive home.
Gabby does crate beautifully. She eats very well and loves to spend her evenings cuddling in front of the TV with her
foster dad.
Like her name, Gabby can tend to be a bit talkative (as per her foster dad). We think in the right adoptive home, Gabby
would be a welcomed addition bringing love and laughter to those around her!

GRANT
Dark Brindle Male
Birthdate: November 2002
Weight: 71#
CAT SAFE
PERFECT GENTLEMAN!
Grant initially came to H.O.T. from the Lone Star Kennel at the Corpus Christi Greyhound Racetrack. He was adopted into a wonderful
home, but the baby developed severe allergies which necessitated returning Grant to H.O.T. for rehoming.
Grant not only is a most handsome young man, but he has a personality which is absolutely perfect. Grant is gentle and loving and just
wants to please.
Grant crates beautifully and is a real joy to have around. He was an only dog in his previous adoption home without suffering any
anxiety issues. Grant is a tall, slender Greyhound with a heart as big as Texas! Since he was in a home with a baby, we know he would
do find again placed with a baby or small child.
If you are looking for a "no-brainer" of a Greyhound, one who is just easy as pie to have around, Grant may be the one for
your family!

SENIOR GREYHOUND

IDA
Black Female
Birthdate: June 1999
Weight: 66#
SMALL CRITTER SAFE
JUST A SENIOR CUTIE!
Originally adopted out by H.O.T. in 2002, Ida returns to H.O.T. for rehoming due to a change in her previous owner's financial situation
and medical issues which made it hard for her adoptive mom to properly care for Ida.
Having been an only Greyhound with one other smaller dog, Ida was the light of her previous owner's eyes. Ida is such a sweetheart it
is just hard to describe her. Ida's bright brown eyes look out of a white face. She has the cutest cowlick running down her neck and
it is frosted with white tips. Her black coat has a sprinkling of white snow.
Ida crates well, but does not need to be. Ida doesn't get into mischief the way that some of the younger Greyhounds tend to. Ida just
comes up to you, stands by your side and begged to be petted and loved on.
Ida is a wonderful Greyhound and is looking for the right family where she can spend the rest of her days warming up the couch.

JANE
Brindle Female
Birthdate: May 2007
Weight: 57#
CAT SAFE
THIS IS NO PLAIN JANE!
Jane has arrived at H.O.T. from the Gulf Greyhound Park.
Jane is fostering in Corpus Christi!
Jane is a small, petite young thing who thinks the world is her oyster. Although when first coming into a new home,
Jane acts a little shy. Don't let that fool you! She can be a very mischievous little gal!
Jane is cute as a button and she knows it. She is a major "kissy-face". So, if you don't appreciate the
smell of doggy breathe, you'd best keep your face out of her reach.
Jane crates beautifully. She eats like a champ, liking a little canned dog food added to her moistened kibble.
Jane is a little princess who we feel will give many years of love to some lucky family!

JASPER
Brindle Male
Birthdate: September 2005
Weight: 73#
CAT AND SMALL DOG TOLERANT
LOVING YOUNG MAN!
Jasper, who was originally called Gobbie, arrived at H.O.T. from the Lone Star Kennels at the Corpus Christi Greyhound Track. Although
Jasper was at the track and trained, he never had an actual race. We are thinking with his loving, gentle personality, he just did not
have the spirit to chase the lure.
Jasper had been placed in a wonderful home where he matured during his time there. Unfortunately, his mom changed jobs not long after
adopting Jasper which necessitated her traveling four days out of seven, and she did not feel it was far to Jasper to have him boarded
half the week. So, Jasper's mom, who we are still working with, made the difficult decision to rehome Jasper with the hope that perhaps
later in her work career, she will be able to have another Gryehound.
Jasper crates beautifully. He probably would do best in a home that has another Greyhound or another medium to large breed dog for
Jasper to buddy around with. Jasper does seem to prefer female humans. Jasper also love dinnertime and jumping around playing with
stuffies (when you aren't watching him!).
Jasper has lots of love to give and we feel he would make a wonderful addition to some lucky family's lives. Jasper would probably
love to have children of any age to play with.

KING
Red Brindle Male
Birthdate: October 2007
Weight: 74#
CAT TOLERANT TO NOT SAFE
THINKS HE'S A KING!
King has arrived at H.O.T. from Peck's Greyhound Farm. King and Swinger are
littermates. Both brothers are very tall and "art deco"-type Greyhounds. They are big puppies who love to
play and be mouthy.
King is the more dominate of the brothers. Being puppy-like, King can be the ultimate velcro hound, but very curious
of everything around him.
King crates beautifully and is quiet at night. He is a sweet guy and has had no "accidents" in his foster
home. King's tail is in perpetual motion and in a constant question-mark!
Dinnertime is a favorite time of King's and he eats like a horse, even to the point of begging for more when his bowl
is empty.
King can be a little whiney when he first goes into a new environment. So, time for adjustment will be needed. But
we feel that King is a super young man who will give his adoptive family lots of fun and love over the years!

LEO
Black Male
Birthdate: May 2005
Weight: 71#
NOT SMALL CRITTER SAFE
GENTLE GENTLEMAN!
Leo (the Lionhearted) comes to H.O.T. from a Greyhound farm in League City, Texas where Leo had been kept as a pet in
his racing owner's home!
Leo is almost totally black and shiny as a new penny. He has a very small white button on his chest. But other than
that, Leo is a gorgeous, shiny black boy whose coat shines as bright as his stellar disposition.
Leo's got a very laid-back personality. Leo spends most of his time sleeping. Leo doesn't get excited much about
toys or dinner time; really, Leo doesn't get excited about much of anything. But on those rare occasions that Leo
does get excited, he does gentle little "love nips". His foster family tells us that Leo is usually found
sleeping or just laying around watching the world go by!
If you want a loveable boy, Leo is it! He will follow you and wants to be nearby. Because of this, Leo's foster
family feel that he would do best in a home with another medium to large dog IF the adults in the home work full-time.
Leo's got greyt ears which perk just right. He loves and gets very excited about walks and car rides.
Due to his laid back personality, we feel that Leo would do well in most any home situation. But children over the age
of eight would probably be best.
