OATES
White and Black Female
Birthdate: February 2005
Weight: 60#
CAT TOLERANT
DO YOU HAVE MY COUCH!
Oates arrived at H.O.T. in our fifth group of Greyhounds from the Corpus Christi Greyhound Racetrack.
Oates is a lovely little gal who some smaller children mistake for a dalmation. No, she doesn't look like a dalmation, but she has spots
so they think she must be a dalmation.
Oates is rather independent. She doesn't really need anyone else around to make her happy. She finds things to keep herself entertained
not relying on her humans to keep her occupied.
Oates crates beautifully. She hasn't met a bowl of food she didn't like. She is just lovely and a really easy gal to have around.
Will you be the lucky family to offer Oates your couch for her bed?

PINKY
Brindle Female
Birthdate: August 2003
Weight: 61#
CAT TOLERANT
A LITTLE CAMERA SHY!
Pinky Pie is being fostered in Victoria, Texas!
Pinky Pie has arrived from the Capote Kennel at the Corpus Christi Greyhound Track. Pinky Pie is still in good racing form, but her
racing owner has decided to retire her due to her age.
Pinky Pie is just a really easy gal to have around. She doesn't demand too much attention. She is quiet and loving, but does tend to
be off in the house on her own during the day. The only thing she seems to get excited about is her dinner!
Pinky Pie does like her space and has been known to give a little growl to let the other Greyhounds know they are in her space. Although
needing a bit of encouragement to get in her crate, once in she is quiet as a field mouse - and, if we can say, she's cute as
a field mouse as well!
Children would probably be a plus for Pinky Pie. Pinky Pie seems to have the confidence needed to be an only pet.

POP
Red Male
Birthdate: January 2004
Weight: 70#
SMALL CRITTER SAFE
EFFERVESCENT, THE PUP THAT REFRESHES!
Pop arrived at H.O.T. in our seventh and last group of Greyhounds from the Corpus Christi Greyhound Racetrack.
Pop was one of our favorites from the first moment we saw him. He is visually handsome, but his personality is laid back and easy
going.
Pop crates beautifully. He may need a bit of encouragement at dinner time. So, a couple of spoonsful of wet food added to his kibble
helps entice him to eat.
Squeeky stuffies are amongst Pop's favorite things. He gets along with the other Greyhounds in his foster home and ie doing perfectly
with the resident cats. Pop would probably do best in a home where he has another canine friend to buddy around with.
Pop would probably do very well with children, but quieter would probably be best. Pop also has a difficult time navigating slick
floors.

RAVEN
Red Female
Birthdate: June 2004
Weight: 65#
SMALL CRITTER SAFE
WILL BE YOUR FRIEND, EVERMORE!
Ravenclaw a/k/a Raven and her littermate, Hermoine, arrived at H.O.T. in our sixth group of Corpus
Greyhounds.
Raven is a beautiful red gal with dark brown eyes that just bore into you. She would rather be around her people than any where else.
Although she goes into her crate willingly, Raven does have the tendency to "sing" at the top of her voice. So, a home which
does not have a common wall would probably be best. Raven has also been known to rip the bedding in her crate. This is not separation
anxiety on the part of Raven; we more feel it is due to her insecurities.
Raven can be quite a baby in her mannerisms. She would probably do best in a home where there is a stay-at-home or perhaps another
large to medium size dog for her to buddy around with. If there are children, older would probably be better than younger.
Raven is just a cutie. We are sure she will bring some lucky family much love and joy in the coming years.
Raven's foster mom says that Raven is a perfect girl and feels that Raven would best be placed in a home where there is only one other
confident Greyhound to help give Raven the courage that she needs.

ROBBIE
Black Male
Birthdate: April 2005
Weight: 77#
READY FOR A LIFE OF EASE!
Robbie is being fostered in Corpus Christi.
This handsome boy came to HOT in mid-February from an all-breed shelter that had cared for him since he retired from the Corpus Christi
Greyhound Racetrack in October, 2007. Upon arrival at his foster home and after being greeted by the resident Greyhounds, Robbie
quickly found the human bed, laid down, took a deep sigh, and settled in for a long, comfy nap. He obviously didn't know that he had
never been in an indoor home before!
Robbie's sparkling black coat is accentuated by a tidy white vest, "sugar toes" (white ones) on all four feet, and a white
exclamation point on the tip of his tail. He is calm, quiet and mannerly, and gets along well with the other Greyhounds and the
brattish pug in his foster home.
If you want a loving, gentle, large Greyhound with which to cuddle, Robbie may be the one for you!
