SARAH
Brindle Female
Birthdate: June 1999
Weight: 62#
SMALL CRITTER SAFE
SWEET SARAH!
Sarah has arrived at H.O.T. from Basset's Greyhound Farm.
Sarah came to the U.S. from Ireland. She is a gorgeous brindle gal with a white heart on her lovely little face. Sarah is just
a real sweetheart.
Sarah loves everyone in her foster home. When there is play fun going on, Sarah does join in for just a few minutes.
When take to the H.O.T. vet for her pre-adoption vetting, so much time was spent on her dental that the vet didn't want to do her
spay at that time and stress her out more. So, Sarah will not be spayed until she is adopted or comes into season.
Got a soft bed and a heart to love a golden senior, Sarah is the one for you!

SENIOR GREYHOUND

SCARLET
Black Female
Birthdate: December 1996
Weight: 59#
SMALL CRITTER SAFE
SHE's HOME, BUT IT ISN'T TARA!
Scarlet has arrived at H.O.T. from Basset's Greyhound Farm.
Scarlet has been the momma to several Greys adopted through H.O.T. She is a wonderful Gable gal with a beautiful nature.
Scarlet had quite a bit of flea dermatitis on her body when she arrived, but with the loving care she has been receiving, those
spots have now filled in and Scarlet has a beautiful, shiny coat.
Although 13 years old, Scarlet acts younger. We do feel that Scarlet is partially blind and only has partial hearing, but she and
Daisy hang around together. Scarlet had most of her teeth pulled upon arrival. She was under anesthesia so long, the vet didn't
want to take the chance on doing her spay. If adopted, Scarlet will be spay prior to going to her new home.
Is your heart big enough to give an old gal a comfy couch for her remaining days?

ADOPTION PENDING
See Greyhound-Data.com for Smoke's lineage.
|
SMOKE
Red Female
Birthdate: September 2004
Weight: 56#
CAT TOLERANT
BRIGHT RED GAL!
Smoke is a petite fawn girl who is getting along well with her foster friend, a schnauzer! Smoke is a very quiet girl.
She is not shy but she does like to be by herself. She is not like most Greyhounds who follow you everywhere you go.
Smoke likes to play with stuffies, enjoys walks and likes everyone she meets. Smoke is very adaptable and would
do equally well in a house or apartment. We feel that Smoke would do beautifully in most any adoptive home!

SENIOR GREYHOUND

STERLING
Sponsored by Lisa A. Franklin in memory of James B. Franklin
White and Red Brindle Male
Birthdate: October 2001
Weight: 72#
CAT AND SMALL DOG TOLERANT
THIS ONE IS "STERLING"!
Sterling is one gorgeous Greyhound. His white is sparkling and his red brindle patches are bright and shiny. His eyes have a sparkle
in them which just hints of his mischievous temperment. Sterling is at the top of his game!
Sterling has a condition with his toenails called Lupoid Onychodystrophy. This is a lupus-like syndrome that involves multiple nails
on his paws. This condition can cause split nails, brittle nails or sloughing nails. (Now, tell us that some human's don't have those
same problems with their nails!) This syndrome can be asymptomatic and lie dormant for the life of the dog. Sterling has no symptoms
of this condition presently. One Vitamin E geltab daily helps keep the syndrome in check. Sterling also has some corns on the bottom
of one of his paws, but these cause him no concerns. So, other than these easily-handled conditions, Sterling was given a clean bill
of health by our vet.
Sterling is doing greyt in his foster home. He is doing wonderfully with his crated although he has been
known to "sing" a bit while in his crate. Sometimes, he also gets a bit anxious
in his crate which results in some panting.
Sterling gets along with the other Greyhounds in his foster home. Although Sterling does fancy himself
an alpha male, he backs down quickly when corrected by his human. This behavior doesn't manifest itself
immediately upon arriving in a new home, but after he gets accustomed to the home environment.
Children over the age of 10 would probably be best for Sterling. Also, a house with another medium to large size dog would also be a
necessity. A stay-at-home parent would also be a major plus for Sterling!

TALLY
Fawn Female
Birthdate: May 2003
Weight: 63#
NOT SMALL CRITTER SAFE
TALLY HO!
Tally came to H.O.T. from John Bassett's Greyhound Farm in Galveston, Texas.
Tally was quite a racer and was destined to be a brood matron, but that never happened. Tally is a most unusual color; she is
truly a blond Greyhound, very pretty, with a rabbit soft coat.
Tally is one of those Greyhounds who really wants to please her owner. She is in a foster home with three other Greyhounds and she
is doing greyt. Tally crates beautifully. She loves chasing balls and stuffies that her foster dad throws for her.
At the Show 'n Tails, Tally can be found sleeping. Guess she saves her activity for when she is at her foster home!
We feel that in the right home, Tally would make a loving companion.
