Update: The above pictures show Old Fella's new quirky eating
habits! He will eat a little bit out of his bowl. Then when everyone else has finished, and he is laying in his crate
"woofing" to get out, we know he's ready to come out, have his food dumped out on top of the chest, so he can share it with
Rudolph Valentino, one of our resident felines!

OLD FELLA TRAVELS TO HOUSTON FOR MAGIC'S SWEET SIXTEEN BIRTHDAY PARTY!
JULY 25, 2004

Old Fella, along with his mom, Cheryl, sister, Kerrie, and cousin,
Gable Cyclone, traveled to Houston on July 25th to attend the sixteenth birthday party of Magic, adoptive daughter of
Diane Jackson (of Burpdog Biscuit fame). This was the longest care ride that Old Fella had ever been on. As you can see,
he spent most of it sleeping!
Old Fella and Cousin Cyclone got along very well in the back of
the van together. Even when rest stops were made, because of the heat, Old Fella and Cyclone elected to stay in the van's
A/C most of the stops!
Upon arriving, Old Fella and Cousin Cyclone found Magic in her
favorite spot, the bed. When Magic got up, Old Fella decided he was going to try it out too! Not to be outdone,
Cyclone got into the act as well! We must say, Magic's bed was certainly the favorite place to be see at the Jackson
House!
Old Fella had lots of fun meeting new friends at Magic's
birthday party. He shared outside time with Austin. He visited with Rob Roy, who was not feeling too well because
of some boo-boos. Old Fella thought that Heart was a very beautiful older woman! Heart reminded Old Fella of a
past love, the lovely Rita. You can read more about Rita on page two of his story.
Old Fella certainly wasn't a shy guy! He mooched loving from
everyone at the party! Old Fella met lots of nice people from the GPA/Houston group, as well as one of their available
seniors, Ivy, who is 11 years young!
Old Fella really got a kick out of watching Magic
walk and walk and walk. She never seemed to lay down to relax. Magic is a spry old gal, who has a little
skip to her step when she gets excited.
Introduced to the delightful taste of shrimp by his Auntie Diane,
Old Fella initially had a bit of a time chewing one without any teeth. He soon found out that they could be crushed
pretty darn easily with his toothless gums! Old Fella's breath smelled of shrimp all the way home!
Old Fella spent quite a bit of time getting reacquainted with
his special friend, Noreen, from GPA/Houston. Old Fella is such a photogenic guy. Aren't his ears just the cutest!
At the end of the day, Magic got together with a group of
admirers still in attendance for these group photos. A greyt time was had by all!
The trip to Houston just wouldn't have been complete without
rain, as it seems to be a tradition that everytime we go to Houston it does rain. Well, we weren't disappointed! After
leaving Auntie Diane's house, a storm struck complete with booming thunder, flashing lightning, and torrential
downpours. Luckily, both Old Fella and his cousin, Cyclone were so tired, they just vegged in the back of the van
through the whole thing. Thank you Auntie Diane, Rosemary, our friends at GPA/Houston, Auntie Diane's critters, and especially, Magic, for
inviting us to come join you for this fun day!
