BLONDY
Fawn Female
Birthdate: April 1997
Weight: 60#
CAT SAFE
A POUND RESCUE!
Blondy was picked up by San Antonio Animal Control on Monday, 02/26/07. H.O.T. was called to assist, and Blondy came to H.O.T. on
Thursday, 03/01/07. A found ad was run in the San Antonio Express-News, but no one claimed this special gal!
In surprisingly good shape, Blondy was treated like a princess during her stay at the pound. She was not put into the general
population, but was kept in one of the offices and given a soft pillow to lay on. We really appreciate the efforts of the
people at the SAAC for making Blondy's required stay a positive experience.
Blondy has been given a clean bill of health from the H.O.T. vet. Except for having some intestinal parasites, which have been treated,
our vet said that Blondy was in exceptionally good shape for her age and for being a stray.
Blondy is a gorgeous light fawn with the dark ticking all over the body. Her tail is dark on top, light on the underside. And
rather than having a light "heart" on her face, hers is surrounded by the dark ticking which gives her a really unique
appearance. When Blondy walks, she kind of has the "goose step" of a soldier!
Blondy is just a doll to have around. She is very smart. She knows which crate is hers, and stands by it waiting to go in when it is
dinnertime. Blondy does not need to be crated when her humans are not at home. Although she can be a bit growly when first meeting
new dogs, Blondy quickly settled down into the schedule of her foster home.
Due to Blondy's personality quirks, her foster parents have decided to keep her as a permanent foster.

SENIOR GREYHOUND

STERLING
Sponsored by Lisa A. Franklin in memory of James B. Franklin
White and Red Brindle Male
Birthdate: October 2001
Weight: 72#
CAT AND SMALL DOG TOLERANT
THIS ONE IS "STERLING"!
Sterling is one gorgeous Greyhound. His white is sparkling and his red brindle patches are bright and shiny. His eyes have a sparkle
in them which just hints of his mischievous temperment. Sterling is at the top of his game!
Sterling has a condition with his toenails called Lupoid Onychodystrophy. This is a lupus-like syndrome that involves multiple nails
on his paws. This condition can cause split nails, brittle nails or sloughing nails. (Now, tell us that some human's don't have those
same problems with their nails!) This syndrome can be asymptomatic and lie dormant for the life of the dog. Sterling has no symptoms
of this condition presently. One Vitamin E geltab daily helps keep the syndrome in check. Sterling also has some corns on the bottom
of one of his paws, but these cause him no concerns. So, other than these easily-handled conditions, Sterling was given a clean bill
of health by our vet.
Sterling is doing greyt in his foster home. He is doing wonderfully with his crated although he has been
known to "sing" a bit while in his crate. Sometimes, he also gets a bit anxious
in his crate which results in some panting.
Sterling gets along with the other Greyhounds in his foster home. Although Sterling does fancy himself
an alpha male, he backs down quickly when corrected by his human. This behavior doesn't manifest itself
immediately upon arriving in a new home, but after he gets accustomed to the home environment.
Children over the age of 10 would probably be best for Sterling. Also, a house with another medium to large size dog would also be a
necessity. A stay-at-home parent would also be a major plus for Sterling!
